Your places stay with you.
My Way Back stores saved places, location coordinates, and recorded trip paths locally on your phone. It uses your device’s location when you allow it to help record a trip or guide you back. The app has no account system, analytics, or app-operated cloud backup.
When you share a place
A selected place’s name, area, category, note (if present), travel mode, coordinates, and simulation status are encoded in its shared link. Anyone with the complete link can read that information. Recipients and messaging services that receive or process the full link may see it. Share links only with people you want to have those details.
Maps and network requests
The app requests OpenStreetMap map tiles for the area you view. Those requests disclose your IP address and the requested map area to the map tile service. The shared-place webpage itself loads no maps or analytics.
This website
The static website host may keep standard access logs, such as your IP address, request time, requested page, and browser information. Place details are stored after the link’s # character; browsers do not send that fragment or its GPS coordinates in the website request. The complete link is still visible to people and services with whom you share it.
Support
A public support contact has not been configured yet. This beta privacy information will be updated when that contact is available.
